Candle Care & Safety
We hope you enjoy your candle as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Ensuring the safe and proper use of our candles is our number one priority and we advise you follow the steps below. Belles Hand Poured Candles are not responsible or liable for any damage or injury which occurs due to lack of care or attention when burning our candles.
- When lighting for the first time allow the wax to melt to the edge of the glass
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Never burn a candle for longer than 4 hours at a time
- Burn on a level, heat-resistance surface
- Burn candle out of reach of children and pets
- Always leave at least 10cm between burning candles
- Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire
- Do not place candles in a draught
- Trim wick to 5mm before each burn
- Don’t burn all the way down. Leave at least 5mm of wax in the jar
- Always snuff out the candle. Do not blow out
- Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris
The top of your candle may look cracked, uneven or pitted when the wax cools – this is nothing to worry about, it’s just a characteristic of the natural wax.
Wick trimmers, snuffers and wick dippers are available to purchase from the candle accessories page.
